BSDL files are frequently a problem for those using Boundary
Scan. All ICs which have boundary scan capability need a BSDL file which describes
the internal cell structure of the device. Any inaccuracies in the BSDL file
will lead to problems with generating and running test programs.
Are you having problems with your
BSDL files?
Our BSDL file Verification Service will check:
- Length of Instruction Register
- Length of Boundary Scan Register
- Existence of Bypass Register
- Existence and value of IDCode Register (where applicable)
- Operation of Bypass instruction
- Operation of Sample / Preload instruction
- Operation of IDCode instruction (where applicable)
- Operation of Extest instruction
- Correct operation of all scan cells and I/O pin connections
Our service will include:
- Preparation of standard universal board for the test
- Production of a corrected BSDL file.
- Comprehensive report
You will need to supply us with:
- Two sample ICs (which may be destroyed as part of the
exercise)
- Full data sheet for the device
- Existing BSDL file
- Full details of any special conditions which are different
from standard IEEE1149.1 (eg. reset, disable, etc.)
